Chris strives to decrease suffering through sharing universal wisdom found in the myth and teachings of the Buddha. His passions include meditation instruction, the neuropsychology of mindfulness, the use of koans as a means to awaken one’s heart, navigating the difficulties of midlife, mindfulness and health care, and the life challenges of men.
Chris is committed to the development and support of an accessible Zen community in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He has been leading the Franklin & Marshall Buddhist and Meditation Group (a student and community sangha) since 2007.
He has been trained in the Four Directions, a mindfulness-based form of spiritual counseling, by Sensei Anthony Stultz (founder of Blue Mountain Lotus Society). He is also offering individual and group koan work under the guidance of one of the great koan-minds, John Tarrant (Pacific Zen Institute).
